Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using DevNest (“the site”, “the tools”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. The service

DevNest offers free developer utilities, including a JSON formatter, JWT decoder, regex tester, Base64 and URL encoders/decoders, hash and UUID generators, and a timestamp converter. The tools run in your browser. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.

3. No warranty — provided “as is”

The site and all tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• results will be correct, complete or suitable for your needs;
• the site will be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free;
• output will be compatible with any particular system, library or standard.

4. Your responsibility

You use the tools entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating any output before using it — especially in production systems, security-sensitive contexts or with important data. Keep backups of your original data.

• Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. It does not protect or hide data; anyone can decode it.
• UUIDs are generated with your browser's random number generator. While collisions are extremely unlikely, uniqueness is not guaranteed. UUIDs should not be used as secrets, passwords or access tokens.
• JSON formatting uses your browser's built-in parser. Very large numbers may lose precision, and duplicate keys are collapsed to the last value.
• The JWT Decoder does not verify signatures. Decoded contents may have been forged; never trust a token without verifying its signature on your server.
• MD5 and SHA-1 are not secure against deliberate collisions. General-purpose hashes are not suitable for storing passwords — use a dedicated algorithm such as Argon2 or bcrypt.
• The Regex Tester uses your browser's JavaScript engine; results may differ in other languages or regex engines.
• Timestamp conversions rely on your device's clock and time zone settings.
• Avoid pasting highly sensitive information (such as passwords or private keys) into any website, including this one, unless you are comfortable doing so.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DevNest and its owners, contributors and operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages — including loss of data, profits, revenue, business or goodwill — arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the site or its output, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access to it, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

7. Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: the data you enter stays in your browser.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
